The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) was incorporated on March 1, 2006.
As Chairman of this association, I consider myself fortunate to have participated along with my coleagues in building this pioneering organisation in the Gulf region that has successfully steered the petrochemicals and chemicals industries towards a whole new era of co-ordination and co-operation for the collective good of the region.
Headquartered in Dubai, the Association’s main role is to identify, address and manage the common interests of its members by using the association's consolidated resources. GPCAs act as the regional voice in all matters of public interest and general concern to enhance awareness of the Petrochemicals and Chemicals industries’ contribution to economic, environmental and social progress, to the media, our stakeholders and the community.
Indeed GPCA has come a long way in fulfilling its objectives. We have established committees to address issues of common concern. We have organised workshops and seminars on various topics. We have initiated studies for our members. We have also produced a directory to provide a platform for contact. And we successfully established the Annual GPCA Forum as one of the pivotal events in the global petrochemicals calendar.
GPCA offers its members access to global knowledge and networking opportunities through various platforms to meet and share knowledge, exchange opinions and experiences, and to advocate the development, growth and prosperity of the petrochemicals and chemicals industries.
Finally, the GPCA also focuses special attention on the environment, health, safety, responsible care, logistics and the promotion of the petrochemicals industry. We have also been extending our cooperation to other similar organizations outside the Gulf region. With the formation of the GPCA, I see the dawn of a new era of cooperation among our members, associated suppliers & service providers, government bodies and our customers. I welcome you to join us in furthering this agenda to foster free and fair trade for a brighter and more prosperous future for all.
