Mr. Khalid Sultan R. Al Kuwari has been appointed CEO of Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC), replacing Mr. Nasser Jeham Al-Kuwari who moved on to lead Qatar Chemical Company (Q-Chem).
Khalid joins QAFAC from RasGas where he led the Marketing & Shipping Group, and handled the company’s global LNG commercial and marketing activities. Al Kuwari joined RasGas in 1997 as a petroleum engineer and has held leading positions in the company’s Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Operations and Technical Planning departments.
Al Kuwari has held board representative positions for the South Hook Gas (UK) and Adriatic LNG (Italy) companies. He has a B.Sc. in Natural Gas Engineering from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and an EMBA from HEC-Paris.
Nasser, formerly CEO, QAFAC and Board of Directors for (IQ) Industries Qatar obtained a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics from the University of Bridgeport, US, in 1990. He was appointed Chief Executive of QAFAC in 2014, and prior to that served as a general manager since January 2012. Nasser started his career with Qatar Petroleum (QP) in 1990 where he held a number of leadership positions.
