Dubai, 4 December 2017 – GPCA, in partnership with Saudi Aramco, is hosting a two-day workshop dedicated to the practice and implementation of Intellectual Property (IP).
Now in its third year, the workshop will take place on 10-11 December in Le Meridien Al Khobar, Corniche Boulevard, Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
The event is designed to enable attendees to learn about the important issues of protecting IP in the region and around the world, while bringing together IP strategists and lawyers, industry professionals, innovators and researchers to share knowledge, network and exchange best global practices in the field of intellectual property.
On Day 1, December 10 the program will begin with opening remarks from Dr. Abdulwahab Al Sadoun, Secretary General, GPCA, and continue with a workshop overview and objectives delivered by Kwadjo Adusei-Poku, Lead IP Counsel, Saudi Aramco and Mike Sellers, IP Counsel, Saudi Aramco.
Jay Farmer, Director of Innovation at Aramco Performance Materials, will present on the topic of ‘IP strategy through the eyes of a start-up’, followed by Geoffrey Rogers, IP Counsel, Saudo Aramco, who will address the issue of regulating and monitoring IP practices online.
Day one will conclude with a discussion about important IP considerations when going public.
Some of the key program highlights on Day 2, December 11 include a presentation by Martijn Vogelzang, Senior Manager Licensing, SABIC, on the topic of patent licensing, and ‘Innovation initiatives at Saudi Aramco and in KSA’ – a presentation by Dr. Samantha Horseman, Team Leader, Human Energy Management, Saudi Aramco.
