GPCA is pleased to welcome Eng. Abdullah Al-Saadoon, CEO, Sipchem, to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Al-Saadoon replaces Saleh Bahamdan, former CEO of Sipchem, who served as a member of the GPCA Board from August 2019 until December 2020.

Mr. Al-Saadoon graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Mineral with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.  After graduating, he joined the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), then moved to SABIC, where he held several leadership positions.

Eng. Al-Saadoon joined Sipchem in 2001. He participated in several major projects carried out by the company during the period of its establishment. He took over the position of president of operations and manufacturing. During his tenure, he led the company’s transformation in several sectors including IT, human resources and supply chain. Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun, Secretary General, GPCA, commented: “I am pleased to welcome Abdullah Al-Saadoon to the GPCA Board of Directors and wish him every success in his new role. His leadership skills and valuable experience, acquired both through his positions within SABIC and Sipchem, will undoubtedly help him to steer the company in the right direction and make a meaningful contribution to GPCA’s strategic objectives and future plans.”

He added: “I would also like to take this opportunity to whole-heartedly thank Saleh Bahamdan for playing an active role in our annual board meetings, always sharing his perspectives on issues of great importance for the industry and helping us to bring the GCC chemical community together.”
