Al Marhoubi takes over the position from Sharanappa G. Gedigeri, who has led the OMIFCO project from its inception
Oman-India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) has appointed Ahmed bin Said al Marhoubi as its Acting CEO with effect from 1 May 2021.
In a post on Twitter, the OMIFCO Board of Directors praised Al Marhoubi for successfully contributing over the last 15 years to OMIFCO’s targets and vision.
Prior to his appointment as Acting CEO, Al Marhoubi held the position of CFO & Head of Risk Management.
He is a Board Member of the Arab Fertilisers Association and a Member of the GPCA Agri-Nutrient Committee.
Al Marhoubi takes over from Sharanappa G. Gedigeri, who has led the OMIFCO project from its inception.
The OMIFCO Board of Directors expressed its appreciation to Gedigeri for his hard work throughout his journey with the company and wished him success in his future.
OMIFCO, a GPCA member company, has been in operation for over a decade.
It is 50% owned by OQ, 25% by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and 25% by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO).
Located within Sur Industrial City, the OMIFCO plant has the capacity to produce 3,500 metric tons per day of anhydrous ammonia 5,060 tons per day of granular urea.
