GPCA is pleased to welcome Eng. Sabri Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Managing Director, Chemanol, to its Board of Directors, replacing Chemanol’s former CEO, Ali Al-Asiri.

Eng. Sabri Al-Ghamdi started his career at Saudi Aramco as Operations Engineer, Refinery Processes in 1994. Throughout his career with Aramco which extended over 13 years, he occupied several positions in different parts of the business.

He joined SABIC in 2007, where he served in different roles including as a Global Technology Licensing Manager (2007 – 2009), and Executive Director of the Center of Expertise, Global Technology Licensing and Contract (2009 – 2013).

Eng. Al-Ghamdi also served as Chairman of the Investment Committee at Global Company for Downstream Industries (GDI) where he previously worked as President from 2013 to 2021.

He is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of Hadaf International Energy Company. He has previously held Board Membership positions at various companies including GDI, Global Company for Chemical Industries (GCI), an affiliate of GDI, and Rufayah Chemicals Company (RCC), an affiliate of GDI.

Eng. Al-Ghamdi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Saudi Arabia, as well as specialization in high level management training courses.

GPCA looks forward to working closely with Eng. Al-Ghamdi towards achieving the association’s objectives and strategy, benefiting from his expertise and that of the rest of his colleagues on the GPCA Board.
