The GCC chemical industry makes up the second largest manufacturing sector in the region, after oil & gas. It has a direct and indirect impact on other sectors within the economy and a significant contribution to overall regional GDP and trade. Therefore, the performance of the chemical industry has a substantial effect on economic development, especially in the contribution of the non-oil sector, critical in the success of the region’s economic diversification drive.
