The Awards took place in a star-studded award ceremony during the 14th GPCA Supply Chain Conference at Le Méridien Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia on 16 May
Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, 17 May 2023 – The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), the voice of the chemical industry in the Arabian Gulf, is pleased to announce the winners at the 4th GPCA Supply Chain Excellence Awards, which took place in a star-studded award ceremony at Le Méridien Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia on 16 May.
The GPCA Supply Chain Excellence Awards returned for their 4th edition after a brief pause, with four exciting categories that focus on recognizing excellence demonstrated by the regional Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and petrochemical producers over the course of the past year. Held as part of the 14th GPCA Supply Chain Conference, the Awards attracted a total of 28 submissions from 16 companies across the GCC.
A well-respected panel of judges comprised of leading industry experts shortlisted the finalists in the Supply Chain Innovation, Best LSP of The Year, Excellence in Sustainability, and Women in Supply Chain categories. The Awards were open to all regional chemical supply chain and logistics operators and providers, who have developed and integrated innovative and sustainable solutions in their operations.
The initiative aims to recognize and shed light on the winners’ commendable contributions to chemical supply chain optimization and their accomplishments that have added value to their business.
Winners in each category received a trophy of recognition as well as a certificate during the award ceremony. The winners who were associate members of GPCA were also granted one-year free membership. The Awards were proudly sponsored by SABIC.
The winners and finalists at this year’s Awards are:
- Category 1: Supply Chain Innovation Award
- Winner: SABIC for their Supply Chain Digital Transformation Project
- Runner-up: OQ SAOC for their refinery supply chain optimization with Scheduling Model
- Category 2: Best Logistics Service Provider (LSP) of the Year
- Winner: Almajdouie & de Rijke
- Runner-up: PSA BDP
- Category 3: Excellence in Sustainability Award
- Winner: SABIC for their Sustainable and Safe Packaging Project
- Runner-up: Sipchem for their Recycle and Upcycle Project
- Category 4: Women in Supply Chain Award
- Winner: Shahad Al-Dhubaiban, Section Head, MRO Strategic Procurement, TASNEE
- Runner-up: Khaoula Badri, Customer Experience Specialist, SABIC
