Masterclass – Chemical Recycling: A novel opportunity for the GCC plastics industry
12PM GST | 10AM CEST | 13:30PM IST | 4PM SGT
Plastics play an integral part in our everyday life. Found ubiquitously in almost every product, it is saddening to know that about 90% of plastic waste ends up in the environment or are incinerated. As global plastics demand is expected to triple by 2050, it is imperative for the industry to transition from linear to a circular model which offers products both rich in economic and environmental value.
To aid this movement, brand owners are making considerable efforts to increase its use of recycled content to 25% and recyclable plastic packaging to 100% by 2025. Although this is a tremendous opportunity, mechanical recycling alone will not help the industry achieve these commitments. To address this challenge and meet current expectations, transformational technologies also known as Chemical recycling which purifies, depolymerizes or converts plastics waste into new useful materials could help seize the opportunity.
This webinar will showcase the various technologies, highlight waste management opportunities for the GCC region and create innovative advanced recycling solutions to meet the demand for recycled materials.
